Flowers

I love to garden. I love to be outside with my hands in the dirt making my yard look beautiful. I love going outside and seeing everything grow. I love planting a vegetable garden with the kids and seeing them develop a love for gardening too! But the main reason that I started gardening is so that I could have freshly cut flowers in my house. They just make me happy!

Fresh Linen

I just took my bedding out of the dyer and I am reminded just how much I LOVE the smell and the feel of freshly laundered sheets. There is nothing better than at the end of the day getting into my bed, pulling up the covers to my chin and falling off to sleep.

Gratitude

Some things I should be grateful for:

I should be grateful for the tiny hand prints on my freshly cleaned mirror, it means I have a beautiful baby girl.

I should be grateful for the dusty boot prints leading from the front door to the fridge, it means my 3 year old son can run and walk with strong healthy legs.

I should be grateful for the sink full of dirty dishes, it means I have food to eat and serve my family.

I should be grateful for a house full of screams and giggles and stomping of little feet, it means I am not alone.

I should be grateful for a husband who sometimes comes home later that I would like, it means he comes home.

I should be grateful for a million questions every day beginning with and sometimes completely comprised of the word 'why', it means my children have a will and desire to learn and grow and a brain that works and seeks for knowledge.

I should be grateful for the endless house cleaning that needs to be done, it means a have a place to call home.

I should be grateful for a heart that sometimes aches with guilt and pain, it means I have a heart to love.

I should be grateful for the children who play right at my feet and call me back more times than I have patience for most nights and who cry when I leave, it means I have their love.

I should be grateful for a tried body at the end of the day, it means I was able to work hard.

I should be grateful for my trials, it means I am getting stronger.

I should be grateful for a kind and loving Heavenly Father who in His wisdom sent me here even though life can be hard, it means I made that choice and He knew that I could do it.

I do not feel strong. I have many weaknesses. I long to be better than I am right now. But hope keeps me going and love fills my heart as I do my best to live each day trying to do something good.
