A team effort

The other day, on The Nesting Place, the Nester asked the question, "where do you blog?"

I blog in our office - and I rarely blog alone!

a gift

Yesterday was my mom's birthday and I had the opportunity to take her out to dinner and do a little shopping. My mom is the kind of person that would give you the shirt off her back. She shares everything - without hesitation. She is the most giving person I know. I saw these pillows yesterday in Superstore and put them in my cart - only to put them back. Although they were on sale for only $5.94 from $10, (can you believe that? I can't make pillows for that price!) I didn't need them. This morning my mom showed up at our house to give me a present - these 2 pillows! For her birthday my mom gave me a gift. That is simply the kind of person she is. It is not the gifts that make her great, it is her heart.
She is the best. Mom, I want you to know that I never expect you to buy me presents and even if you never give me a gift again, I know you would give all you have.

For the love of shoes

Ever since my operation I have not been able to wear anything but flip flops. I love flip flops as much as anyone, and at least it has been summer. But when it is the ONLY thing you can wear, it gets very boring, especially on Sundays and date nights. Last night while I was in Winners I found these cute little flats. As much as I love flip flops, I love flats 10 times more - they are just so feminine and girly. I thought that I would never be able to get them on my feet without it hurting, but when I tried I not only got them on but discovered that they are the most comfortable shoes and they didn't pinch at all. I have no idea when I will be able to wear most of my shoes and I have some that I will probably never be able to wear again, but at least now I have a super cute pair of flats to wear with dresses, skirts, jeans and anything else.
