Back To School Project

My sister-in-law came up a few weeks ago so that we could sew skirts together. Off we went to the material store with 6 kids in toe (crazy!?). Julianne found some cute material with a pattern to match. I had a very specific look in mind, which I could not find. When at last I found a dress pattern that I liked it was, of course, out of stock. My children found a very cute pattern for pillows though and we decided that it would be a very fun idea to make each child a pillow to go on their school chair. They turned out so very cute and the kids are thrilled with them!
Oh, and later on as I was cleaning out my old patterns and getting rid of those ones that I wouldn't ever use again, guess what I found? The exact kind of pattern that I had hunted for in the store, a pattern that I probably got 15 years ago and forgot I even had. It seems so strange to be able to say that and not be referring to a time when I was a small child. When did that happen??

Flowers

I love to garden. I love to be outside with my hands in the dirt making my yard look beautiful. I love going outside and seeing everything grow. I love planting a vegetable garden with the kids and seeing them develop a love for gardening too! But the main reason that I started gardening is so that I could have freshly cut flowers in my house. They just make me happy!

Fresh Linen

I just took my bedding out of the dyer and I am reminded just how much I LOVE the smell and the feel of freshly laundered sheets. There is nothing better than at the end of the day getting into my bed, pulling up the covers to my chin and falling off to sleep.
